Is this right for you?

When telehealth may, and may not, suit

Some concerns need a physical examination and are not suitable for telehealth. Your practitioner will tell you if an in-person assessment would serve you better, and what to ask for when you go.

Telehealth may suit you if

  • Everyday concerns that can be talked through by video
  • You have a private space and a device with a camera
  • You want care that works alongside your regular GP

Better seen in person if

  • You need a hands-on physical examination
  • Symptoms that are severe or rapidly worsening
  • You need in-person tests or procedures the same day

Telehealth is not suitable for every health concern. Your practitioner may instead recommend in-person assessment, urgent care, a GP review, a referral to another doctor, further investigation or no treatment.

A prescription, referral or test is one possible outcome, only where your practitioner considers it clinically appropriate.

Results vary from person to person. An assessment does not guarantee any particular outcome.

Men's Health questions

What can I discuss in a men's health consultation?

Anything about your health, including fatigue, low energy, sleep, mood, weight, skin, or sexual health concerns. Your practitioner starts with your symptoms and your history. From there they discuss whether tests, monitoring, or an in-person assessment would help make sense of it.

Can I discuss sensitive concerns?

Yes. Consultations are private, held by secure video with a qualified Australian practitioner, and your information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. You can raise anything that has been sitting on your mind, and take the time you need to explain it.

Will I be prescribed something?

Not necessarily. A prescription is one possible outcome of a consultation, and only where your practitioner considers it clinically appropriate. Other outcomes include advice, lifestyle support, tests, monitoring, a referral, or no treatment. Your practitioner explains the reasoning behind whatever they suggest.

Will I need blood tests?

That depends on your symptoms and your history. Where your practitioner considers pathology clinically appropriate, they can provide a request form to take to a collection centre. Some concerns need a physical examination instead, and your practitioner will tell you if that is the case.
